Stunningly styled and perfectly presented… but how do you actually LIVE in a Vogue Magazine photo shoot?
In this video, lead property stylist Cate Craig shares with you her tips to convert a busy, functioning family home into a Vogue Magazine showpiece.
How you live in a home is usually vastly different to how you present it for sale? Once you have your home looking ready for Vogue, here are three tips my clients use to maintain the look and your sanity.
1. Create a cleaning schedule.
The whole house does not need to be cleaned daily. Sort the tasks into fortnightly weekly and daily. Allocate specific days of the week to do that task so that it still looks fresh for open home day.
2. Display Only.
Those beautiful white fluffy towels in the bathroom and the new cushions or the cushions you have hired are classified as display only to keep them at their pristine best. After each open home remove those towels to a place that only you have access to. The cushions can be placed in a bag and the everyday ones used to lounge around on during the week. Take note though, You do need to allow time to redisplay before each open home.
3. Don’t Stress the Mess.
Assign each room a bag or a box. Everything that is not in its’ rightful place before the open home, scoop it up, put in the bag and take it with you. After the open home, you have much more time to deliberately find its’ place in the room.
With a little forward planning and allocation of tasks throughout the family, the effortless vogue living look can be achieved, with a bit of effort.
